My experience
Hi, my name is Yifan. I’m a graduate student from SMU Guildhall specializing in Level Design. I had 3 years of industry experience working as QA & 2 years of experience in school developing games in Unreal and Unity. I’m looking to land a job as Level designer, but I’m also open to other design opportunities such as combat and mission design.
My Approach to Level Design
For me, level designers are virtual architects that build possibility space for the player to experience different kinds of things and emotions that are otherwise difficult to obtain in reality. Games, much like novels and films, serve as a medium for wish fulfillment. As a level designer, my goal is to create believable alternative realities that satisfy the player's fantasies. I always strive to craft unique levels that guide players through memorable and emotional journeys.
